Nenshi & Ford’s Grey Cup wager sparks suggestions online

It’s been decided: the Calgary Stampeders and the Toronto
Argonauts will face off this Sunday in the Grey Cup championship game.

As fans across the country rally behind their favourite teams,
the mayors of the two cities are agreeing to a little wager on the outcome.

Calgary’s mayor Naheed Nenshi threw the gauntlet down Sunday
night.

Roughly ten hours later, Mayor Rob Ford confirmed he’d take
Nenshi up on his offer.

While the bet will benefit at least one local foodbank,
Torontonians and Calgarians were quick to suggest the two mayors up the ante.
In fact, hundreds of suggestions for raising the stakes flooded Twitter Monday
morning.

Soon, the #mayorbet hashtag was lighting up social media
with creative wager ideas for Ford and Nenshi.

The pitches quickly turned political.

This isn’t the first time the two mayors have engaged in a
friendly competition. In January, Ford, and his brother and councillor Doug
Ford, called on Nenshi to join them in a weight-loss challenge.
